Hey all,

Main grips with the mini i have is the poor braking.

Anyone suggest anything that can improve this? Brake fluid has been changed but the pedal is still spongy and wont stop like its got proper anchors!

Havent got a lot of cash, but would love to see what you guys think.

Hey!

Like your post in my thread, give John at ModnMini a call. I went for EBC Groved Disks and Green Stuff Pads all round, once warn in you'll be chipping teeth on the steering wheel lol

Never had them fade yet, and they are pleasing too the eye :smartarse:

Anyone tried braided lines for their brakes?

Are they worth it? Was contemplating getting the lines done at the same time if I were to get the JCW brakes...

For road use I presume the difference would be a slightly different pedal feel? But other than that would be minimal...?

I heard from someone a while back, that for some reason they can be problems with the MoT with the braided brake lines - have no experience of it myself but thought I'd mention it...

I have the EBC set-up to, well worth the money!

Tony - went with the EBC in the end eh, very cool.

What was the problems with braided lines and the MOT?

No idea, I remember talking to someone about them when I upgraded my brakes (think it was Demon Tweeks - who should know there stuff as they've been around for decades), and they said that they had heard of cars being failed as they didn't comply with some regulation. Not sure how true it is, it was the first I had ever heard of it - maybe someone has a definitive answer out there....?

Will have a look around and see what I can find... seems a bit odd... all they do is stop the lines from bulging under hard pressure...

ooh, you've just jogged something in my memory - i think the guys said it was the fact that the hoses couldn't be inspected properly??
