Hi all.

Im sure its not just me who gets loads of steam coming out the front of the engine once things have heated up and its wet but Im getting concerned that there may be a leak in my cooling system... Have asked Hallmark to take a look at it but was thinking that it may be the radiator where (if there is one) a leak is coming...

So, does anyone know how much a repacement radiator would be and any idea of labour charges?

Anyone come accross an uprated radiator? I think Im the most paranoid person when it comes to my car overheating so anything to reduce the possiblity of this happening would be usefull - any ideas?

Cheers

In the wet i do, its usually damp/wet getting through the air intake onto the intercooler/engine rocker cover :) ..

Certainly nothing to worry about unless your car is actually over heating indicated to your water temp guage.

Thanks for your response David... I just cant help but get paranoid about that steam - the MINI does it more than any other car Ive driven/seen....

Am getting a Coolant Service soon and as I mentioned Hallmark are going to take a look at it for me and do a pressure test to see if I have any leaks....

I'm with David on that. Unless you're loosing coolant and/or overheating, as it only happens in the wet too.:phone:

Yep i often see steam rising after a drive in moist air....

If you still want a uprated radiator, talk to Minimania :)

Havent been able to try it in the dry for a while..... :boxed:

Must just be water on hot engine bits but it doesnt half look like your car is about to explode when your sitting in traffic....

Andy did a quick pressure test yesterday and having a look round thr engine with him it all looked fine - no leaks could be seen.... Which is good!!! :) Must just be water spray... good!
