Almost a year since i bought my Cooper S and just received a 'flyer' for upgrading to the 'Works' kit for £1,250.00. Only a 10% increase though to 192bhp?
Seems to be the following:
part of a new exhaust system(circa £300)
New airfilter (around £100max)
remap for the ECU (£350 Max, surely)
and the price doesn't include fitting ? Yes, you keep the BMW Mini warranty but am i missing something here or is this very poor value for money?

The stage 1 exhaust is approx £500 +fitting but apparently the factory works rear silencer is £250... just as options for you if you fancied it :)
Not that Ive looked very much but when I was flirting with the idea of a turbo mini i found out that the kit can be had for circa £1550 including fitting and vat....
Not a massive gain for your money your right but at least it isnt the best part of £4k like the first gen JCW kit... that gave a ~24% increase in power...
£ for £ the R56 kit is £74 per bhp compared with the R53 kit which was £94 per bhp (both excluding fitting - although that would swing things further in the direction of the R56 as fitting time was best part of 10hours for the R53 kit IIRC).... I know comparing it with the R53 may not be the best thing to do but it may put in context of 'mini' thinking... :)
Annoying when a simple remap can see big gains on the R56 the only problem for me would be making more power on the R56 but doing it safely... the JCW kit does exactly that...

yeah I suppose there is the alternative of a massive remap and making your car go bang in all the wrong ways !:bag:

Truth be known , if you put your car on the Rollers, it would most likely make nearer to 190 anyway as most R56's seem to punch well above their weight

Indeed - need a before and after dyno to really see if the Stg1 kit is worth the money or not...
I think that I would be tempted to go stg1 but with factory rear silencer - selling the stg1 zoorst to recoup some money....:whistling:
