Andy, and David, i currently use Autoglym fabric hood cleaner and protector, i like this but at £20 a hit its quite expensive, what would you recommend, if anything different..

Andy uses this all purpose cleaner that would work fantastic! Its excellent at cleaning but i think you'd still need to use a protector =(

The AG hood cleaner is fairly good. The only trouble is that if you apply too much "Cleaner" part it'll be foaming for weeks (as i found out lol)
I would clean the fabric with a good stiff brush (but gentle enough not to damage the fabric) This will get all of the surface dirt and dust from the surface.
Next i would use the AG sponge damp with water and a tiny part of soap (very small). Work that over the hood to remove some of the more ingrained dirt.
Finally damp a cloth/leather/synthetic towel and wipe down the surface. If its been a while since it was last protected (3-4 months) then use the AG protectant
Don't use the Multi purpose cleaner as it'll strip everything off of the fabric and i'm sure it'll be worse!

I wasnt asking to how to keep dry Tony, just what to use to clean the soft top, but thanks for the helpful post, ill bear that in mind http://www.chat-avenue.com/images/smileys/2.gif
