Chilli my MINI

Chillis 4 years old on Tuesday:cool: and has done 36500 miles. I gave her a wash and wax and took some pics, im hoping to win some stuff on fleabay for her later:p I need to fit before the top gear run her rear black aero kit decals from mini pirate and her JCW badges that go on the side repeaters and front grill badge.

hi there we met before on the fish and chip run ,i was the black cooper with white stripes and the loud exhaust , you must of spent a fortune on your car its more speced than some jcw's ,it looks great ,what more could you put on her vikki?

What do you use to clean your seats? They have a slightly shiney look - like mine - I want to get a more matt look..

I emailed ModnMINI the other day to get the ball rolling in order to try and sort out the problem that .... ......
. at MINI Motorsport center has created on my MINI. Ever since putting my much cherished MINI in to his hands for a £35 so called 'Works' remap she has been 'tugging' back on acceleration. BMW are unable to cure the 'tugging' my car is now afflicted with and it seems that it's going to cost me around £400 to have it 'over written'.
I hope to go and see ModnMini Saturday the 4th Febuary. They are going to see if they can find the problem if they cant then they have suggested one of their custom remaps that retail at £299 plus VAT.
How on earth the race Mini's he fiddles with ever make it round one lap, let alone a full race distance, quite amazes me! For someone who supposedly worked for the late, great John Cooper for some 25 years, his levels of incompetance and ineptitude really are quite staggering. I'm sure if he knew what .... .....were now doing to people's cars, while still using his name to further your own, shady, business, he would be turning in his grave.:mad::mad:

With all due respect, a Works re-map for £35????.. it seems 'you get what you paid for', at the end of the day, a Works is a Works, and as much as you can do to Mod a car, put Works accessories on, only a MCS can be a real Works..sorry if that seems harsh..

The 'Works' is a brand and not just for the MCS otherwise why would they sell the Cooper sound kit etc which lets face it a Cooper is the same as a ONE near on. All MINI's look the same, ONE, Cooper an S all but the scoop on the S and few other minor cosmetics tell them apart. Shes done now, i dont want to fork out £400 or so on a map, i just want my car back to normal. If i wanted a fast MINI ild have an S. I only went for the works map as he said it would even out flat spots!

Spot on, a Sound Kit for a Cooper :Wink: ...the Original 'WORKS' upgrade is/was available for MCS only..
The differences are obvious, apart from the 'WORKS' exhaust and engine upgrade from 200 - 210 BHP depending on the year....
Have you taken this up with the person in name?
If you had flat spots, surely this was/is dwon to BMW MINI ?
Unfortunately they get crabby if they know you have had modifications done not by themselves :(...
Anyway, like i said, hope it gets sorted, if not i have a friend who has done 'WORKS' conversions etc, im sure he would be happy to help :)

As i said the Cooper is near on the same as a ONE. Yes i went down twice to MINI Motorsports to try to fix this problem but it failed. I have sent him emails and no reply which isnt surprising. Didnt go to BMW, reason i went with this man was because he was also painting my rear callipers red. Which he then left the nut undone causing a break fluid leak! and never did the rears properly as he said he couldent paint them properly in the rain. But thats another story along with the one of him pinching my badges under my engine bay! I was even going to get my JCW brakes with him and maybe suspension, thank god i opted with BMW! I have the original 2002 Works brochure and it lists the Cooper in there for 'Works' bits :)

WORKS bits, but not engine upgrade :) you can buy 'bits' from flea bay, badges etc etc
The guys a cowboy, go directly to him, you know where he is yeah?, If you have proof he stole from you etc, id take it further and take legal action, also if he failed to do what he promised, take that road :)

Well i cant see if it makes much difference what engine upgrade come first at the end of the day i didnt go for the full engine upgrade as i didnt want a 'Works' exhaust as my Play MINI system you cant beat imo. Yea i agree his a delboy alright, that was the main purpose of my thread to warn others of him.

Can you have a full WORKS upgrade on a ONE ?.. im not too up on that but im sure someone else will be, i just know how to put petrol in :p

Thank you, yea loads of people have the 'Works' full upgrade on their MINI ONE's most dealers dont fit it but some do. Quite a few ONE's on MINI2 have it :) have a good one too :)

Me too...my advice? for what its worth Vikki...get her looked at by 'someone'in the know ;)...bite the bullet, see what happens eh :)

i would go to bmw and explain the problem but dont tell them about the remap see if they can reset the ecu or something if you already havnt, or talk to your local superchips dealer and they will probably have an answer for you ,in my experience somethings are best left alone im not messing with our other one unless its jcw parts or bmw ,hope you get your baby sorted she looks the part hope you get her running the same

Another option could be to go see GT Tuning as they do a remap for about £199+VAT plus seem to know what they are doing. They have been doing remaps for quite a while, as I understand, so may have come accross this problem before...?

yea all my parts and stuff are from BMW, only reason i went with him was because he said he was ex JCW. Spoke to BMW they couldent do anything as they dont have the details of the map or something and basically didnt want to really get involved. Hope modnmini can help me, fingers crossed.

Where did you get his name from ? He might well have worked at JCW garage for x amount of years but thats just a name, its his workmanship that counts, maybe thats how he gets by, trading on the name???

I need a bigger garage... I end up running round it quickly in the evening while the car is in the shade of the house trying to get it finished before the sun sets - hence why alot of my pics in the gallery are done at sunset :):biggrindance:

My MINI will getting some treats hopefully this weekend. I purchased some genuine R90's the other weekend. She will be getting these shoes painted by mm in satin black, leaving the lip polished. She will be getting a scan gauge and I hope to get her a JCW steering wheel from BMW.
